Greetings from Orbit City

This cool t-shirt depicting a holiday card is from the children’s show The Jetsons that debuted in the early 1960′s and then reran in the late 80′s.

The Jetsons were a family residing in Orbit City in the year 2062. George Jetson (Dad) lives with his family in the Skypad Apartments: his wife Jane, the homemaker, and their two children, teenage daughter Judy and son Elroy. Housekeeping is seen to by a robot maid, Rosie. The family has a dog named Astro, who talks with an initial consonant mutation in which every word begins with an “R”, as if speaking with a growl.

Planet of the Misfit Rebels

This vintage t-shirt is based on the classic holiday stop motion animation film by Rankin/Bass debuting in 1964 called Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.

This is taken from the part of the film where Rudolph meets an elf named Hermey who aspires to become a dentist and a loud prospector named Yukon Cornelius, who dreams of discovering silver and gold and becoming wealthy. While searching for a place to stay to get out of the cold weather they come across a place called “The Island of Misfit Toys,” where unwanted playthings with some sort of physical error or flaw go to live until the island’s ruler, King Moonracer, a brown winged lion, manages to find homes for them.
